Spinner Dolphins in Subic Bay: Nature’s Acrobats

Subic Bay is home to spinner dolphins (Stenella longirostris), known for their spectacular spins and playful nature. These marine acrobats travel in pods, leaping and twirling above the water—behaviors linked to communication, play, and parasite removal.

As key indicators of ocean health, they help maintain balance by feeding on small fish and squid. However, threats like boat traffic, noise pollution, and plastic waste endanger their habitat and survival. Responsible dolphin-watching, marine protection, and reducing plastic pollution are crucial to safeguarding these dolphins.

Protecting Subic Bay’s spinner dolphins means preserving a thriving marine ecosystem for future generations. 🌊🐬

Let’s help protect their habitat by joining Tidy Up The Tides!
